The most popular ride from Tisovec. Crossing Veľká lúka meadow with freely roaming Norik horses, and ascending to the third highest castle in Slovakia – Muránsky hrad.

Important: Cycle only to the permitted point. The final section to the castle (approx. 30 minutes on foot) is covered on foot, leaving bikes at the shepherd's hut.

Muránsky hrad (980 m a.s.l.) was home to many historical figures – including the famous Mária Séčiovci. The view from the castle across Muránska planina is panoramic.

The ground squirrel colony in Muráň is active March–September – worth stopping for on the way through.

💡 Tip: The Norik horses on Veľká lúka are wild – admire from a distance and don't disturb them. Bring hiking shoes for the castle ascent.
