The most prominent trail in terms of reputation and legal compliance. The route is designed to avoid prohibited sections of the Low Tatras National Park, riding exclusively on permitted cycling trails and roads.

Čertovica saddle (1,232 m a.s.l.) is an iconic cycling destination in Horehronie. The view south towards Muránska planina and north into the Low Tatras is unforgettable.

The route uses cycling trails 5577 (green), 8596 (yellow), 8638 (yellow) and 5580 (green). Mountain sections are technically more demanding – recommended for riders with at least basic off-road experience.

⚖ Legal & Safety: Use only marked cycling trails 5577, 8596, 8638, 5580 and permitted roads. Do not cross prohibited zones of Low Tatras National Park.

💡 Tip: Hotel Čertovica at the saddle offers refreshments – a well-deserved break before the descent.
